Just a few thoughts
Sorry, no photos today -- I can't move right now, because I have a tiny kitten asleep on my shoulder, and the camera is in another room. You'll just have to suffer until the next time I have a chance to post.
Izzy is doing well. Today she had a long stretch home alone, and tonight her voice sounded hoarse, as if she'd been crying all day! Poor little thing. But after I got home, she spent two straight hours playing and being insane in that special kitten way. Now she's finally wiped out and resting.
Tomorrow we have our first vet visit, where we'll get her tested for FIV and feline leukemia. Assuming those come back negative, we can then integrate her into the house and start building a relationship between her and Frankie, who so far have only seen each other but haven't touched at all.
There's a disadvantage to adopting a cat who was still nursing on her mother when we picked her up -- she wants to nurse on me when she's sleepy. She tries to nurse on my nose most often, but has also tried on my ear, my chin, my eye and my neck.
More photos soon, I promise.
